Graph technologies focus on developing insights and providing solutions through connected data. By leveraging the power of graph databases, companies can uncover hidden relationships between entities, reveal previously unknown trends, and make more informed decisions.
Recently, Neo4j has partnered with Temasek Polytechnic (TP) in Singapore to launch Graphs4SG, a program that aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills to leverage graph technology. This program will begin in February 2023, with a commitment to training over 200 students by the end of 2025.
According to Gartner, graph technologies are expected to be used in 80% of data and analytics innovations by that time, up from just 10% in 2021. This surge is due to graph technology’s ability to provide insights on connected data, outperform traditional analytics techniques, and deliver complex queries quickly.
“There is a growing demand for graph-skilled professionals in Singapore and the wider APAC region to support the business requirements of organizations seeking to solve their biggest data challenges at scale,” said Nik Vora, vice president for Asia Pacific at Neo4j.
With Graphs4SG, Neo4j and TP aim to prepare future generations for the potential of graph technology. Through this program, students will gain hands-on experience in graph databases and the ability to create complex queries and network visualizations.
Furthermore, students will receive customized training across different stages of learning, with a mixture of text content, videos, webinars, and code challenges available both in-person and online.
Once completed, the program will provide participants with a professional certification from Neo4j's GraphAcademyand Temasek Polytechnic. By the end of 2025, Neo4j and TP expect that Graphs4SG will have enabled over 200 students to unlock the potential of graph technology and become more competitive in their industry.
“Our partnership with Temasek Polytechnic is curated to help students learn about graph data platforms and their practical application, preparing them for future careers in the field. The Graphs4SG program is specially designed for Singapore so that students can expect a more agile curriculum, with access to an extensive collection of resources created by graph technology experts," Vora added.
Neo4j announced that this partnership is the first of many with Singapore's tertiary educational institutions. Graphs4SG is an extension of Neo4j's Graphs4APAC program, which was established in 2021 to provide Asia Pacific stakeholders with free access to the latest graph technology and tools for their engineering and business training.
