As the digital world continues to expand, the role of cyber defense becomes even more critical. The increasing reliance on digital technologies across all sectors has underscored the necessity for comprehensive cyber defense strategies to protect our digital assets and ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our data.
In a crucial step towards creating a more secure digital environment in Thailand, Singapore-based cybersecurity giant Group-IB has partnered with Thailand's Defence Technology Institute (DTI). This strategic alliance was formalized by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last week, aimed at fostering a robust collaboration in research, education, and cybercrime response operations.
Under the purview of this MOU, both entities will jointly develop the Defense Technology Institute Cyber Academy Program. DTI personnel can upgrade their skill set by utilizing Group-IB's cutting-edge technology to fight cybercrime. This step aligns with Group-IB’s mission to arm individuals and organizations with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the digital landscape safely.
The DTI Cyber Academy will leverage Group-IB's Threat Intelligence and Managed Extended Detection and Response (MXDR) technologies. These advanced tools will offer real-world attack management experience and practical skills crucial to building a robust cyber defense mechanism. Group-IB will also lead the first ten commercial classes of Cybersecurity Advanced Training, covering critical areas such as Blue Team Analysis, Threat Intelligence Analysis, and Incident Response.
Reflecting on the partnership, General Choochart Buakhao, director general for DTI, noted the importance of an unwavering commitment to cyber defense. He expressed his optimism that Group-IB’s extensive experience and technologies will enhance DTI’s cyber defense capabilities and promote knowledge sharing in Thailand's cybersecurity domain.
Similarly, Dmitry Volkov, Group-IB’s CEO, emphasized the significance of their long-standing relationship with Thailand's education and government sector. He expressed confidence that by leveraging their collective resources, they could make substantial strides in advancing cybersecurity research and development.
In a related development, Group-IB announced plans earlier this year to open a Digital Crime Resistance Center in Thailand. This center will house an elite team of cybersecurity experts in areas like Threat Intelligence, Digital Forensics & Incident Response, and Digital Risk Protection.
Group-IB has a global footprint with over 19 years of expertise in cybercrime investigations and incident response. The company routinely plays a role in multinational digital crime operations. With this new alliance, Group-IB will be poised to support DTI in dealing with increasingly sophisticated cyber threats, enabling better defense against digital crime.
